Gotta Frame Question
I have a chance to pick up a 71-72 LWB truck for a "song & dance". It is in pretty sad shape ( bed is rotten as well as cab floor, doors and radiator support. It has a straight 6 w/manual disc and 3 on the floor. My question is that the frame is a leaf spring rear end and I would like to know if the steps to shorten a leaf spring truck are the same as a coil spring frame ( are spring perches going to have to be relocated ??) The frame and suspension are salvagable as well as the motor and tranny, just wondering if it is the same process. Any advise ??

Re: Gotta Frame Question
I believe they are the same. The frames are the same unless its a 1 ton or a 4wd.2wds leaf or coil spring frames are the same( c30 excluded) design wise.Of course, the SWB is shorter than the LWB but I dont think you take a chunk out between the spring hangers to shorten it.

Re: Gotta Frame Question
THANKS !!! That answers my questions, thinking this may make a good daily driver straight 6 w/5 or 6 speed or maybe a 200/700r4. Not sure but the $$ is right.

Re: Gotta Frame Question
i like all of what you said, as far as color you could do something flat, just not black maybe flat white or grey or something
