Don't uderstand why
Just spoke with jkaylor68gmc ( Josh ) and he is in Maggie Valley at the truck show ( He says it is pouring rain there !!). He is in his Yellow 47 International Truck ( he has to go to the NSRA Nats South in Knoxville tommorrow and take pics for the magazines ). Anyway he experienced some truck troubles and was broken down on the side of the road with his hood up and tools in his hands and was passed by several 67-72 truck without anyone stopping to see if they could be of assistance. I know that the Street Rod guys have a kind of unspoken comradery between them and if they see a fellow rodder in trouble they stop and try to help. Just don't understand why they drove by and didn't stop. Not trying to point blame or upset anyone, were just used to the Rodders and there help. Any thoughts on this ??

Re: Don't uderstand why
Hard to say. I think pretty much everyone on this board would be willing to help out their fellow enthusiast. Maybe they didn't want to get out in the rain?? Sucks that he's broken down. Did he say what the problem with the truck was?

Re: Don't uderstand why
apparently both front and rear bolt in the upper control arm one the passenger side ( it is a Fatmans Kit ) came out and the truck sit down on top of the tire after hitting a bump in the road. He finally got to a parts store and was able to get some bolts and piece it together ( hopefully make it to K-ville tommorow and get the parts from Fatman to fix it correctly. I will know more in the A.M. after I talk to him. I will let you know how it is going in the morning.

Re: Don't uderstand why
I doubt,or would like to think,no board members would pass him.I know I`d recognize the IH from his avatar. They didn`t want to get in the rain?Neither did he.All the more reason to stop.I`ve been known to exit and turn around to offer assistance. That`s my code.

Re: Don't uderstand why
I personally hit 95 mph when I had to turn around a few miles up the road from a lady to help her with a tire (stopped on the left side!!!) and I was in a hurry back up to Fargo. Ironicly, as soon as I got back to her somebody else had moved her car to the right side and was fixing it for her. Ironicly, the other guy was hauling a trailer of used tires.
I did try though (and I wanted to go fast). Somebody should've stopped, but sometimes when you're in a nice old car many people wrongly think you have it handled because you built the car the first time.
