1960 Chevy Apache 10 worth
I have the chance to get a 1960 chevy apache 10 for free, but i would like to know if it is worth dragging out of the hedgerow. It has been in the same family since 1971, and was parked in the early 90's, and now has been take over by a packrat, but it does have a title. It has rust, but not too bad. I tried to do some research on ebay, but there are only a couple of them listed on there. Are these trucks valuable at all, or is there a reason that i can only find a couple of them listed. I think that it has a 6cylinder and a 4 speed, but i didn't want to get bitten by a rabbid rat to check for sure
So, what would be the ballpark worth of a rough long step apache 10? thanks David

seriously though, I looked at a 61 the other day, probably similar condition, and he was asking 500, typical rust on the front fenders and no wood in the bed,, I offered 300 as it was not what I was looking for, ( I really wanted a 60, as was like I had as a kid) and I still dont believe that this was a 61 he had with the hood line, he countered with 400, I said no thanks, and he still has it for sale... just depends on if its what someone is looking for..

In my estimate, if it runs it might be worth $2000 if the rust is minor. If its a complete (as in not missing parts) project truck (as in needs mechanical work) it would still be worth about $1000.

It's not a matter of what the truck is worth....Old Chevy trucks are invaluable!!! You must have a passion for them or they will never be worth your time or money.

i agree. i have owned 2 60-66 trucks in 2 years. thats because i love them. in my opinion the best trucks gm ever made. still the best work truck, easy to work on and mod. my truck has made it through 41 years of hell from what the owner told me and its still in fairly good shape, that means alot to me. go see if a new truck could go through that and still be driving. just my opinion. but like Volvo said, you have to like these trucks or its not worth your time. every time a 60-66 truck is crushed or totaled a part of me dies...... lol.
