Has anyone done extensive cab work??
I'm knee deep in body work on my 68 and wondering when I replace my inner, outer rocker, floor pan, and cab corners should I reinforce the door pillars with some square tubing to keep them from moving?? I'll probably do this just to be safe, any pointers. Want to tie them low but should I also tie the pass. and driver side together?

Re: Has anyone done extensive cab work??
I braced mine before I cut off my rockers and cab corners just to be safe, but many guys don't think its necessary. I replaced about a 1' x 1' area of my floor on each side, so 90% of the floor was intact, which I think will hold the cab from changing shape. When I cut my braces out there was no tension on them so imo, major bracing probably isn't necessary unless you completely sever the connection between the firewall and back of the cab by cutting out the floor all the way across.

Re: Has anyone done extensive cab work??
I removed the doors and reinforced the door openings by welding an X in the door openings, replaced cab supports front and rear, new floor and inner rockers, cab corners, then put the doors back in and did the outer rockers. Having the doors in will help to line up outer rockers and insure the door fits the opening.
