Refinshing Air Cleaner Assy

What is the best way to refinsh a stock air cleaner assy? Should I powder coat or just paint. If I powder coat can I remove the vacuum motor from the assy and what about the rubber gasket in the lid? Has anyone powder coated an air cleaner assy and how was it preped for blast, coating, and oven?

Thanks,
mike

Re: Refinshing Air Cleaner Assy

I powder coated mine and the vacumn motor was removed. The rubber gasket is just glued in place, be careful pulling it out and use weater strip adhesive to replace it. Simply bead blast wipe down with acetate or similer cleaner to remove grease and finger prints and coat per powder maker's instructions.
