Air ride controller and compressor setups
Wondering what everyone runs for compressor and controllers on their air ride setups.. I'm really not intereste in hopping and stuff. Just want to have basic controls of ride height. So i guess i just need like a twin gauge and switch setup. What size tank and compressor should i run? What about solonids? Thanks

Re: Air ride controler and compressor setups
I'm like you and am using my airbag system for ride quality and height adjustment... No hopping for me. I purchased the complete Air Ride Technologies Air Management kit (ARC1001) for $500.
http://www.ridetech.com/productinfo/rideproe.asp They list it as a 4 wheel Econo system and includes the compressor, tank, dual needle gauge, all fittings and airline required to get you up and running. It is really simple to hook up too, The valves are built into the gauge and the wiring is nice and simple... It only requires a power feed to the compressor and a "dash light" connection at the gauge. Pretty low end for some folks on the board but it is going to work well for what I need for my truck.

Re: Air ride controller and compressor setups
Are SMC and Parker Valves comparable? What othere valves are good? For a basic setup should i get 1/2" or 3/8" valves.. Thanks for the help..

Re: Air ride controller and compressor setups
I used this one, cost me $30 on ebay.
I would stay away from 1/2 valves. 3/8 are a lot more controllable. Use 3/8 lines as well, they are a little easier to run too.

Re: Air ride controller and compressor setups
keep us informed when you put it together im verry interested in where you get problems and how you solve them .
im in the proces of buying 3/8 slambags srw valves 2 compressors and a big tank i only want the front and back go up and down dont want the side to side , i've been looking intoo the same system for leveling . it looks great and will prolly work great too but for now i will try manual and if im able to spent a bit more upgrade to the ridetech stuff . i'm planning on doing a c10 frame of and while im at it replace the axles by c30 stuff and turn it intoo a dually , mostly gathering materials now , prolly will take another 2 years or so to start on the truck i only have boxes sitting now .

Re: Air ride controller and compressor setups
I liked th 7 switch setup I had. Every now and then, I had to bump up a corner because they wouldn't fill even 100% of the time. So having a switch for each bag proved to be worth while even if I didn't use it a whole lot.

Re: Air ride controller and compressor setups
When you get your front done, set it where you want your ride height to be (with Slam Specialties, you want it to be about 3" inflated for best ride) and get it aligned there. Higher or lower and you will be out of alignment, but you won't be driving it far at that height, so it's not a big deal.

Anyone use any of the Auto Pilot line of digital air controllers that SD carries?

I know with the RE7, the overall measurement would be about 5". Thanks for clearing that up.
