I have a 71' Cheyenne with the stock instrument cluster, no tach. I recently picked up a tach cluster I was told was out of a 71' Blazer. A difference I noticed was that on the top of my speedometer, the light to indicate when the high beams are on is a circle. On this dash, on the speedometer it is a rectangle?

It's really no big deal, but I'm curious now. Did different years have a different shape? Or was it by model, Blazer vs. truck?

Any advice is appreciated.

The original cluster in my 1970 is rectangular. All the repro's I have seen are round. It's red too.

I've seen both on same year trucks... never tried to figure it out myself.

Possibly a sourcing thing or maybe it's by manufacturing plant?
