Anyone here have a lowered late 80's suburban with big rims?

I have a 89 suburban that I am going to put some 30" tall tires and wanted to see how low is to low to get them to fit. I am asking to see what major problems I will run into. Its has a lowered suspension of 4-6 right now. I am wondering if I will be able to keep most of the fender wells. Or if I will even be able to turn at speed?

I will be putting on some 22x9.5 with 265/40 tires. I wanted to see if you who have done this exact same thing could give me a heads up on what I am going to run into, any problems. Thanks

The 40 series tire is 1 inch taller then the 35 series. It will have a half inch more rubber on top.

Re: Anyone here have a lowered late 80's suburban with big rims?

I have got the rims on and they look good. Yes the 40 series tire , 30" tall, does rub, but the 35 series (29" tall) would of rubbed also. IMO 35 series is way to small for a suburban.I expected this though.

Tires are 22x9.5, +18 offset. 265/40/22

The tires came out perfect in the front to be able to tuck. The back tires looked to be to far in so I used a 1 1/4" spacer to bring them out, now they are center of the wheel well. I guess these trucks have different offsets front and back. I stayed with using the spacers in back because i can rotate the tires. If i got tires with a different off set in the back I would not be able to rotate them front to back.

I am staying in 2 different places right now (weather related) when I get back by the house I will take pics.
