Engine Stand Question
This is probably a stupid question but i just bought this Engine Stand and i need to know what bolts i need. The damn thing didnt come with any ..... (i have never used one of these)
I am putting a 5.3L on the stand. The bolts i have are not long enough. Any help would be huge! -Hart

I think the 5.3 is metric. Probably needs to be about 4 inches long

You will also want to spread the load as wide as possible. If the picture is how its going to get mounted, it looks pretty good IMO.

They are metric bolts go to your local hardware store and pick up some. I can't think of the thread pitch off the top of my head but I have to use washers to space mine out the proper size.

I know it's probably not needed...but I always use GRADE 8 bolts for holding up an engine on a stand.
The way I usally put an engine in a stand..is to pull the holder out of the stand and bolt it to the engine first (engine is hanging from hoist)..leaving all the bolts just snug, center the holder..and then tighten them down evenly...and then place the stand back onto the holder, and then lower the hoist...
