Just finished, 9:00PM

I just came in from putting the 5" flip kit on the back of my truck, been working in the dark for about an hour now, but it was worth it! I set the rear back on the ground, and I must say its looking awsome, even without a bed on it! Pics in the morning, and the front gets some 2.5" spindles tomorrow too!

no socket deep enough = open end wrench, tighten down very evenly and very tight.

Re-use the stock bolts w/the 'new' nuts or cut the new bolts.

Saddle is the part that goes under the axel correct? If so, then yes the hole is to the front.

Looks good. Your not going to find a socket that deep. Like Scoti said, re-use the stock u-bolts, or whack them suckers of...

Re: Just finished, 9:00PM

i just used an open wrench to do mine... it kinda sucked

also, remove your bump stops while your bed is off

after i did the flip kit on my truck and sat it back down, the axles where riding on the bump stops, so i had NO suspension travel in the rear.

and when i say remove them, i mean everything not just the rubber. you'll need to drill our grind off the stock rivets

Agreed, it's just a matter of time till you run something over and get it caught on them U-bolts and either bend or twist something.

I used the same flip kit and c-notches from GMC Pauls. I cut off the u-bolts but left about an inch sticking down. Here is how it looks with them cut. I agree that they were way too long before!
