New white faced gauges - $20.00!
Well, not exactly.
This one's probabily been around on some board, but found it on NetNews. www.whitefacedgauges.com They are actually just white stickers that cover your old gauge faces. And, according to the web page, they only offer 73-80? so far. Those gauge pictures look real close to our years, esp. fuel and speedo. Maybe if there's enough interest, they can be convinced to make a set for '67-'72? On second thought, someone with 'spare time', a digital camera and some photo editor could come up with the same thing. Just need the media to print it on. BTW: NFI here, just passing on some info.

I bought some fro the guy on Ebay. They're about a 6 on a scale from 1-10 in my opinion. It appears that he photocopied the stock gauges and went from there because the lines aren't very crisp... especially on the center gauge (gas/turn signals/idiot lights), the lines look almost hand drawn. I may sit down and draw these out on the computer and send him the files and see if he'll reprint them for me. I haven't asked him yet.

I agree with XXL on this one .....i bought a set and all i can say is "I got exactly what I paid for - $20!"
They aren't anywhere close to "show-quality"..... but they wouldnt be too bad on a "driver" or a "beater." So...here are my words of widsom "Don't expect too much for only $20." |

I'm with you on this one. Spent my 20 bucks and was a little disappointed. May not even use them.

Hi guys!! this is durangedesign just checkin in!
Noone likes my gauges huh, what is the matter with them. I spent alot of time on them and it is hard to recreate them but to please everyone I can make them better I just though they were pretty good, of course this is like 4 people out of alot. There are always unhappy customers even if the product is perfect. |

While I understand your "arm's length" argument, I don't have to do that with the 30 year old black gauges currently in the truck to appreciate the crispness of the lines. I think $20 is a semi-reasonable price for what I got, but I wouldn't buy them again for that now that I've seen them. But... if they were crisp, clean lines I wouldn't hesistate. Thanks for checking in with the board. Like I mentioned in my email to you, there over 5,000 of us on this board, so you're talking to a potentially huge audience of customers. Kenneth

Smad,
I'm glad you are attempting to improve your design. I thought the pics looked good but I haven't seen them in person.

XXL,
I agree with you 100% The detail in the lines just isn't there, particularly in the speedo and fuel gages. Smad, That 12 to 15 inch rule doen't sit well with me. My Grandfather always said "if it looks good from far, it's far from being good" Maybe I'm being a little too critical but than again we have alot of people including myself here that are doing just that when it comes to their trucks. I myself have had my gage cluster apart at least four times. It's been stock, lite blue, gray and now I'm leaning towards white. I have it in the living room next to the TV. For what I paid I'm not complaining. I do think you're on to something good. Just need to step up the quality even if it impacts the price. Sounds like there are some people here who are willing to help.
