even if you bottom it out 5miles aint much// i've driven close to a thousand with a truck on the bump stops you just got to be slow and carefull and allow the distance for stopping

because it has a c-notch the bump stops are only about 1 inch thick.

2500+ pounds is a lot to haul on a stock 1/2 ton, I'd bet your tires are not close to being rated that heavy. My 3/4 feels a bit squirrely with that much of a load and it has E rated tires on it.

Around here, the cops like to write multiple tickets for overweight pickups. I know of one guy who got hit with 6 violations for being too heavy, they impounded the truck and made him empty it before it could be driven again.

I think i'm going to have to make 2 trips just to be on the safe side. My tires hold 1820lbs each not sure about the 18" torque thrusts or the frame with the notch.

Re: pallet of concrete with a 4/6 drop??

I agree thats a lot of weight even for a stock truck! A truck with a 4-6 inch drop should have no problems carrying loads . Since it only 3-5 miles away make 2 trips!

Re: pallet of concrete with a 4/6 drop??

Why not make a couple(3) trips, that is ALOT of weight to be putting in a truck, and a lowered truck. Up here they are 55 lbs a bag. Why are you getting bags, for that much, get a transit!

Re: pallet of concrete with a 4/6 drop??

I would say make three trips. Better safe than sorry. A half ton pickup has a load capacity of 1000 lbs including passengers. If you haul 750lb per trip, I would think things would go much better, especially considering the modifications.

Re: pallet of concrete with a 4/6 drop??

I'd rent a trailer too..I used to haul alot with a dropped truck; also pulling a trailer for yard materials (dirt, sand, mulch); That is why I got rid of springs in the back and bagged the truck..It makes a BIG difference in handling..It was worth the money if you plan on keeping the truck...

Thumbs down Re: pallet of concrete with a 4/6 drop??

I would RENT a truck .... between breaking some thing or getting pulled over and getting a ticket it's not worth it. IMHO.

esll.

As well this is not in the best of interest with regards to public safety or your own.

Around here concrete is about $90/yard delivered. Is there a reason you don't want it premixed?
