Just looking for some input

I can't make my mind up on a few things on the truck. I'm undecided if I like the stance or not. I lowered it 3/4. One day I go out and look at it I like the stance the next day I think I should drop it one more inch all around. Another thing is the tires. The wheels and tires look small on the truck. The rims are 22's and the tires are 265/35's. I've considered doing a 23 in the back but that'd be an expensive risk to take. Another thing is the sidemarkers, should they stay or go? I'm leaning towards keeping them. I already have 90% of the parts to finish the truck, I don't look forward to some of them. Especially the one piece power windows and the wood bed It's messed up I've actually decided on a paint color and I'm sticking with it and these other little things are getting to me. btw, I'm painting it the dark green that is on the front clip now. Well, here's the pics, I'm thick skinned, let me know what you think, good or especially bad. Oh, pay no attention to the bumber I need to get some more bumper bolts, I could only find 2 of them.

Re: Just looking for some input

me too...not so much a fan of the big rims. 17" is as big as I would go (JMHO) and I like a 4" front drop and a 4" or 5" rear drop

Re: Just looking for some input

I see two choices that I feel would make it look better-

1. Leave the drop alone and go with a little taller tire in front, and even more in the rear. With it sitting like it is, all you notice is the rim.

2. Slam it so you don't notice the sidewalls are too thin....

Re: Just looking for some input

You asked. You need meat on those rims.Concentrate on the overall look and not just the wheel. The sidemarkers look best in their proper colors.Current trends spill over into classic vehicles. But,in the long run the "class" comes with the less is more look letting the true reason for these trucks being popular show through...they`re great looking trucks stock. It`s best to sit down and think things through before buying stuff.

Re: Just looking for some input

The rims and tires come off a friends bagged Burb and she sold them to me cheap or I'd probably just went with a set of 20's. I thought about getting some 40's and seeing what they'd look like. Every other vehicle I've built has been bagged, so this static suspension is a tough choice. Yeah, I have about 4 sheets in front of me with ideas and parts, so I do a whole lot of thinking on the looks before I buy something. I still have my Rallies, I'm going to have to put them back on when I take it to be alighned, I might post some pics when I get around to it. But a lot of people run the rallies, and my goal is to always try and look different. And on the sidemarkers, I just don't know if I want to keep them or shave them. They break up the truck a little now.

I agree with N2TRUX, bag it and slam it. If you picked up the wheels cheap then leave those for now until you get more money saved for what you want.

Re: Just looking for some input

if you keep those wheels and the suspension the way it is, I would do 285/40/22 in front and 305/40/22 in the back

Re: Just looking for some input

Yeah,I think mostly you just need more rubber`round those rims.Sorry if I insulted you.By the looks of your pictures and the questions you asked,it looked like you went out and got the two current trend items(big rims & clear lenses)then looked at it and wondered how it looked.
You could sell off the lowering stuff if you think baggin`will get the look you want.

Re: Just looking for some input

Haha, they don't even have bulbs in them, I thought about redoing the whole set up and putting them in up and down, lol. I'm not bagging it. I've already built 2 bagged trucks and they just aren't as much fun to me as they use to be. I'll probably just do another 1" in the back and go with a bigger tire. And this isn't my first car/truck to customize/build, this is the only one I've really been tore on how I wanted to build. The truck's plans was to buy it do a couple things and resale it, but now I've decided to keep it. I have a built 396 I've been thinking about putting in it, but I also have a 72 Chevelle I'm thinking about putting it in, but the truck is in better shape. Decisions, decisions. Oh, and Special-K I didn't take it as an insult, I'm asking for opinions, I know what I'm getting myself into, lol. And btw, 1loC10, that truck needs mirrors, looks like a person missing their arms, that and driving without side mirrors sucks ass.
