Gear ratio questions.
I have a couple of posi 1/2 ton rear ends and was wondering what the standard gear ratios would be? Both are 12 bolt. First one is from a 69 4x4, 350 with a 3 speed manual. Second came from a 72 suburban with a 402 and turbo 400. I know there are different possibilities, but wondering what was standard. Thanks...

i would guess the 4x4 would be a 4.11 maybe and the burb would be a 3.73 but im just guessing

I don't know for sure.Maybe 3:73s on the 4wd.Even my old 69 4wd that had a 4spd and 350 had 3:73s,as does the swb 4x4 that had a 292/4spd.Get the numbers off the ring gear and I can tell you the ratio

 yea if theyre out might aswell pull the covers off and just get the numbers off the gear

That is the problem, one of them is buried in the shed, (really buried!) and the 4x4 one is still in the truck but not here right now. Thanks for the input. Eric

well that makes it difficult doesnt it, but i would still guess either 3.73 or 4.11 in the 4x4 and the burb could have 3.07, 3.73 but thats just guesses
