Re: 8-lug wheels
What's wrong with the slots? They are the perfect wheel for this period truck...other than stock steelies!!!!!!!!

Re: 8-lug wheels
My wife won't let me get rid of the slots. I think they are period perfect, but I would like something in about an 18. If mine weren't so cool, it would be an easy call.

Re: 8-lug wheels
had to come and look here to find some stylish wheels to suit my 79 3/4 truck, pack up those slots and ship them to australia because I want them lol May sound strange in this day of bigger is better that a 22 year old guy doesn't want those other flash rims and would stick with a set of slots the closest I have come across over here is these bean 8's available in all sizes..... I think it would look pretty good with a set of slots like my profile pic lol might leave the pipes off tho.
By the way looks like a great truck |

Re: 8-lug wheels
I'm digging those slots you already have too! If you change to something else - keep those - I bet you will want to use them again later.

Re: 8-lug wheels
Take the Slots to a place that polishes wheels and get em polished so they look like new. They will look really great on your truck.

Re: 8-lug wheels
After extensive hours on the web looking for the best looking rim to put on my truck. I ended up with the tried and true aluminum slots........Still haven't found anything that looks better.

Re: 8-lug wheels
Just picked up a set of 15x10 alum. slots for the Jimmy. Hours and hours of sanding and polishing and they will be ready to mount my 35's... Keep the slots and buy ralleye wheels for a change.
Took all long time, almost a year to find a set.

Re: 8-lug wheels
well maybe if my slots were 10s, i'd dig 'em more, but i think they're 8s or 9s. i'm gonna get 'em polished, then see. right now, this truck looks like it belongs to Starsky & Hutch...

Re: 8-lug wheels
I bought a nylon brush for my dremel and some Mothers polish. I was reading somewhere that with a little time and a lot of towels that they should polish up real nice.
I tried to polish my slots by hand many years ago and spent about 4 hours to get a 4" square to look good. I hope the Dremel makes quicker work than that.

Re: 8-lug wheels
About an hour with a fine Scotch Brite pad and then Mothers with at cloth disc on a drill motor. I don't want the high gloss polish since the originals were always a semi-dull shine.
