axle differences
OK i sold a one 14bolt axel to this guy. He has a one ton van dually. Besides the extra wheels what makes it different.
He says it wont fit and id like to know why, he state it wount mount up. So from what hes saying is a van rear is different then a truck rear. I thought if he wanted to he could remove the axels from inside the housing to the axel i sold him and make it a dually was i wrong in this upsumption. Pease someone help me out id like to know what makes these axels so different. Pictures would be great to.

Re: axel differences
Width.
I'm not sure off of the top of my head, but I think the van rear is narrower, especially a dually.

Re: axle differences
Van rear ends are a different width. I'm not sure, but I think the spring perches may be a different length apart as well.

Re: axle differences
that what he saide the spring area. but it wants a van like he said after he brought it back he said its (a box truck big difference) or in other turms a
d30. I gave him my word i take it back if it didnt fit but you would think a guy would know that a commercial work truck a d 30 (i think that it fender numbers) wouldnt work with a civilian car to well. I told him to look in a junk yard for box trucks it hes best bet, but he insisted that a normal rear will fit and so he when to another guy and bought it from him i bet it wont work he needs a box trucks rear.
