WTB- 73-79 complete clip, or fenders, hood, etc

I am looking for a complete 73-79 front clip. I will only consider rust free original sheet-metal.

Shipping is out of the question so it needs to be somewhere near Houston or Dallas Texas.

Frank- I would prefer buying the entire clip all at once. I need all the samll parts too, so I think that's the best way to go.

I have been looking at just buying a truck and strip the clip, then sell off the remains.

That's too bad you are in Texas. I have a complete front clip, sans the passenger side fender (I needed that).

Ok, no response. How about really clean fenders and hood. I would love NOS, but will look at OEM parts. They must be RUST FREE.

Re: WTB- 73-79 complete clip, or fenders, hood

I called the guy from the auction that Phuloi68 listed above. The fenders look awesome, but he was honest enough to admit he couldn't be sure they werent aftermarket. By the time I got them shipped here I could buy new Goodmark fenders that didn't have trim holes drilled in them. I decided to pass.

I found a clip locally that I plan to go look at this weekend. The fenders have some rust, but the hood, core support etc are supposed to be good.

Re: WTB- 73-79 complete clip, or fenders, hood

If that don't work out, and we can overcome distance, I have something that may interest you.
I have a couple of fenders buried in the back that If I remember, one was rust free and the other had some rust and a dent on the bottom. They came from S. Carolina so the don't have Indiana rust. I bought some replacement panels(from GMC Paul at the last board meet in Indy) for them. I also have a hood-BUT- looks like someone used a paint remover or something and it is nothing but surface rust on the top side. The bottom is still painted yellow and looks like new. Do we call this rust free? I think the top can be prepared and primed and painted. There may be one small scratch or small dent. I
haven't looked at it for a while. If you don't come up with something, maybe we can figure something out. Can't remember exactly, but I think the core support is there as well as the inner fenders. Not sure but I may even have the doors. Brought the cab and front end from S.Caroline to use, then found a later style and used all that. It's burried at the back of my 64' building. Might get close enough to get some partial pictures

Phuloi68 that may be an option to consider. Right now everything I find worth buying is attached to a nice truck. I don't mind buying a truck if I have to, but if it's really clean I am afraid it will turn in to anther project...

Re: WTB- 73-79 complete clip, or fenders, hood

Let me know quick. I am planning on going to Norwood this weekend in the old beater and was going to take that stuff for the swap meet. PM me if interested and lets see what we can do. I am planning on trying to dig the stuff out today and I will take some pictures. If it gets to Norwood, maybe we can get it to you.

Re: WTB- 73-79 complete clip, or fenders, hood

I just pulled the stuff out. Most of what I have is oem stuff. I looked for marks on the hood and I am beginning to think its a repop. One pic shows a small dent. That is a nickle next to it.
Core support, inner fenders, outer fenders, etc are all original.
I am attaching pics of the hood. I took a bunch of pics of everything else. Most everything is in real good shape.
I am planning on taking this stuff to the board meet in Norwood, Mo. Don't know how far that is from you.

Re: WTB- 73-79 complete clip, or fenders, hood

From the pics it looks like the hood could be GM. I don't think the aftermarket puts the globs of goo between the bracing and skin like GM does.

Unfortunately I am not able to make the trip to the board meet.....
