Question old body to new frame question

Just a thought I had the other day: has anyone put the 67-72 cab/body on a newer 88' up frame? I havent done any measuring but I did notice that the cab mounts to the outside of the frame on my 91' like the 67-72. Just thought I would ask if it has been done and to what success?

Re: old body to new frame question

I was going to do this a few years back. Was going to use a 71 lwb truck body on a mid 90s 4wd that had a 6.2 T.D.I then found a original 4wd truck and went that route.I know there have been a few people,on here,do the swap

Re: old body to new frame question

I am just wondering how much trouble it is for the gain: duramax, nv4500, better ride, newer options, more parts, ect......

Re: old body to new frame question

I have a`91 Suburban I want to build a 67/72 longbed Stepside on.The`Burb is a 3/4t/6.2/4L80E.But,that`s the last solid axle`Burb.
Using an`88-up frame wouls have it`s challenges,but it`s been done.If you`re talkin` Dmax,you`re looking at an`01-up HD donor....won`t be cheap.
