I've got a straight bench out of a '94 regular cab pickup for my '72 and it works great and looks straight and clean. Put in new should belts and center belt. HUGE difference. Also, the child carrier works well, mine had one in it for years.

Just put a set of 60/40 splits from a '93 suburban in my '72 suburban. Again, nice fit. However, I'd take a straight bench anyday, just for the clean look.

Not much room behind the seat when its all the way back on the rails. However, the back is thinner than a stock seat, so there must be a little room back there. When my wife drives it and moves the seat forward, there's got to be 3" back there.

About the same amount of room under the seat for odd crud.

Plenty of leg room, definitely no problem there. If I had a brain, I'd have a digital camera by now and would post pictures. One of these days...

i have pics on my camera but when i hook the camera striaght up to the computer it doesn't boot up for some reason. i gotta get one of those little USB memory stick readers. but i'm going to try and do something quick because i knew as soon as i changed my signature people were going to ask. i should have better prepared. hehe. its a stock floor body drop. frame below the cab is cut down 3". bed floor is raised 3". core support mounts are lowered 3". big notch out back. waiting on my welder to finsh things up.

I put a 90 model 1500 in my 70. Like they said about same room as stock bench...just way more comfortable..

Now I forget who wanted a picture...but if you want to see...you can see my web page and it shows the fairly simple changeover.. Pleae forgive the ugly color combo of the seat to my truck.

why not just cut all that out? run a little reinforcement, if needed.

We've hijacked the seat thread...

That pic is of the stock fender, and you can't cut anything out to give more clearance unless you do something about the hood hinge that bolts in those holes. What did you do to get such a big drop and still have fender clearance and still bolt up the hood?

actually, two new front fenders, cowl hood, outer grille, and front rollpan should all be here tomorrow or the next day. so i havent gotten to that yet. the fram is still at the welding shop. i know it can be done. IF customs has done a 72' layin door. rockers are cut off. if they can do a 6"+ body drop. i shouldn't have to much of a problem doing a 3"

You need a set of factory 67/68 buckets with the centre jump seat/fold down console. I use it to put my daughters car seat on when I take the truck to shows.
I just had mine reupholstered"
