Need help identifying these wheels - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hey all, I am a noob to this forum and I am in need of your assistance...

I have searched for information on theses wheels but to no avail, I have come up short...

The wheel is 15x8.5 6 lug with 4 inches of backspacing. take note of the valve stem placement. I have 3 rims and in need of a fourth... however I have no idea what it's off of???

any help would be greatly appreciated

I looked all over the wheel for any type of OE stamping, but there is nothing to be found

possibly, but every 1/2 ton 4x4 wheel I have seen has been narrower and the valve stem comes out of the rim closer to the lip

did you look for stampings on the center band with the tires off??// i've seen valve stems placed like that on offroad wheels to prevent getting the stem ripped off// they actually look like a reversed rim

years ago you could buy just plain wheels with the back spacing you wanted and the width. Could be some of those.

There is a guy here locally that will take your stock wheel and make whatever back spacing and width you want. I'll have to remember to check on his number for you.
Just is case you can't find one, he should be able to make you one.

thanks for all the feed back so far...

I haven't had a chance to remove the tire yet, so i dont know if there are any marking in there.. however i cant say I have ever seen wheels with markings in the tire area.

There are a few places like Stockton wheel and wheel vintquies(sp) that will build custom wheels based on a similar looking wheel , but I have three of these and would hate to throw them out because the are perfect for my project and i love the old OE wheel look. I am not in a hurry (yet) but would love to find one or two(one for a spare) to complete my set.

I will continue my search

ok, I saw this 67 suburban... and they look like the same wheel... does anyone have a good close up of a suburban wheel?

They have the hubcap nubs on the outer portion of the inner wheel hub so they are 69+. The widest Chev rim in this era was 8.25" (what Special K said...LOL) bead to bead (outside of rim to outside of rim can be as 9.5" on this wheel).

I have never seen a stamping that was covered either. I find the stamping visible from the outside on most of the steel wheels and on the inside of the alloys.

I have been searching for nearly 2 years for two (2) Firestone Duplex 8-lug 9.75 x 16.5 steel wheels with the clips for hub caps. Keep them...hopefully at some swapmeet or JY you will find one for $10-$15. You couldn't have the last three on the planet...LOL! Keep the faith.

CUCV Blazers had those wheels.Possibly the same specs.I had a`69 CustomCamper K/10 that had them.They`re 8.25(8 1/4")rims.You could check with www.petepaulsen.com or www.stocktonwheel.com
