Any ideas what this really is for????

I bought this emblem on ebay because the auction stated it was a grille emblem for a 71, 72 pickup. Well it's not. The mounting studs are wrong and it's a one piece where my old emblem you could remove the insert if needed. Any ideas what this actually is for? It's NOS in the box. No part number on the box though

Could it be the one that mounts to the hood on a 70 C-10?

Looks like a bad after market hood emblem. Maybe from the JC Whitney Company. I think they were made to mount over Ford logos. You know made cheap for those guys who can't afford a real trucks.

Re: Any ideas what this really is for????

Looked through the illustration catalog, I believe it's from a 73-77 G series van.

Re: Any ideas what this really is for????

it isn't a 69/70, if you look on this photo;

You can see a recesed part on the left and right, if it went on a hood, they would be top and bottom for the bulge in the center of the hood.

That number is on the emblem off my 71. The emblem on the box is the one I'm asking about and that number on the middle of the back is 3970783. The only number on the box I can find is GR.1.303

Looks like I got screwed cause this bozo is not answering my emails....
