Rear Window Wont Go Down Fully
I've got an 88 K5 Blazer and the tailgate window will only go down halfway. The window motor works great and not too long ago the the sashes and channels were replaced. It doesn't appear that anything is blocking it from going down.Does anyone have any idea of what might be going on?
Thanks, Chris |

Re: Rear Window Wont Go Down Fully
I went over all the electrical stuff and ended up with needing the guides in the tracks replaced. The glass goes from straight up to an angle and they hang up.Next, your window won`t go up past that point,if you do get it completely down.

Still stuck, can't find any "childproof" mechanism. The tailgate doesn't open because of rot (working on that) but I do have the interior tailgate cover off and cant see anything that would stop it.

Re: Rear Window Wont Go Down Fully
Disconnect the cable from the gearbox and see of the motor and cable turn freely. Mine had a bind inside the cable. ($50-60 at the dealer)
Next, disable the switch so you can run the window up and down with the tailgate open. Leave the tailgate at a vertical position but so that it will not go inside the channel of the top and see if the window will go up and down. These steps should provide some clues.
