Not feeling the love...

Just figured I would pass on a "pat on the back" for this board.

Recently I found an old magnesium bellhousing for my uncles 1962/1963 426 Superstock Dodge he had many moons ago. My father bought the bellhousing new at the local dealers parts counter for a spare when my uncle was drag racing the car. They never used it, it just hung in the barn until a couple of months ago. I went looking on eBay to see what I could find for info and saw a similar bellhousing sell for $2200!!!

I placed a quick request for help on a Mopar Superstock page. I explained the story and was looking to find info on it and who could possibly use it. Since I placed the thread, there has been no response....no hello...no welcome to the board...no help what so ever. A bunch of "vews" but no "replies".

I'm glad I own chevys and I'm glad I found this board. When I jumped in here people were all over saying welcome to the board and more than willing to help when any time I posted a question. Thanks.

Re: Not feeling the love...

From what I have encountered you have two common types of forums and they both differ from this one. There's the really active ones that are frequented by post whores and @sshats. Forget getting a serious response to an intelligent question. All you get is 3-4 pages of smilies and off topic BS.

The second one is what you encountered. It's a dead zone. No matter how hard you try to promote a pulse, it's not gonna happen.

We are glad you found this place and it was what you were looking for. Thank for the compliment...

Re: Not feeling the love...

the reason ppl on the dodge forums rarely talk, is because they are always too broke to pay the internet, from having to fix their crap

Re: Not feeling the love...

Amen to that. I know I havnt been able to participate as much as I would have liked and with job situation (I love our economy) being what it is I wont be able to get to the nat'l meet this year... BUT, this is one of the top boards on the internet... period. I have always gotten reasonable feedback from members and participated in a few local get togethers and have learned more from you folks than any book or magazine. I have encouraged my students to look to the internet for information and teach them how to analyze what they find to determine if it is credible or not, and i use this site as an example of what to look for. We have our issues and eveyone will, but overall the integrity and honesty found here is better than average and I am proud to be a supporter. Have a great Memorial Weekend!!!

Hey, at least you don't get disowned by half of yer relatives during the MSU - U of M footbal games, lmao By the way the Ford vs. Chevy thing is fine, try loving imports with a family of redneck like my friend Mike - I believe by now his Civic has been placed in the bed of every dually truck in the family with the intention of beinh hauled off to the landfill (), and their 1-tons ain't that few, lol

Re: Not feeling the love...

Oh, and as far as cool site - I regularly get my Ford guys over at GMN to give advice on Chevys, it's funny how well-prepared they usally are for tackling Chevy issues. Just gotta find the right place, which as Liz said ain't that easy no more.
