Re: Finally decided on a header....
It was a concern of mine , but I'm not mega low or anything and wanted to make it as easy as I could on myself for fabbing my own exhaust....(straight back and out the sides in front of the rear tires)

Re: Finally decided on a header....
No issues with my plugs, I removed them to install headers, they went right back in
(I don't think mine are the same part # since mine are 3/4 length and on a 4wd)

Re: Finally decided on a header....
I can't speak for the hedmans, but I know that the #5 with my hooker long tubes is DEFINITELY easiest from under the truck with a box wrench. and you might as well get #7 while you're there, and 6 and 8 are pretty easy from down there too, lol. Justin

Re: Finally decided on a header....
i have the same headers on my truck. ive had quite a few problems with the number five plug wire. it is very tight and tends to burn through them pretty quick. i ended up making my own wires and putting the heat wrap around the number five and six plug wires just to be safe.

Re: Finally decided on a header....
tnx for input on #5 guys, I was thinking about going with these also. tnx EVANS I like your entry gun as well.. I'm going there next. I built this from mostly DPMS parts, besides the bull barrel. I have since sold this upper to help chip in on my XD45, and went back to a stock 20"

Hey I'm lookin for a set for my 4x4 that don't interfer with the shackles too bad. Which ones do you have? Do they clear the shackles pretty good? The ones that came on my truck when I bought it rub on the shackle bolts. I'm tired of patching it up all the time. Albie |

Check out the pic's in my siggy link, choose the "Merlot" link, then after the Cardomain site come up choose "GQ" and go to page 13? I took lots of exhaust pic's and the header swap. I'll dig up the #.

Re: Finally decided on a header....
Page 13, 2nd pic on right, you can see how low the old headers were, &
if you look closely you can see the newer ones already installed, I think it was like 6-8" differance from the ground, and nowhere near shackle bolts. HEADMAN ELITE CERAMIC COATED HEADERS SUMMIT - #HED-69830 JEG'S - #500-69830

Yeah big difference. Your Blazer looks good ,hopefully someday I'll be able to redo my truck. My shackle bolts actually rub through the collector tubes. I can't believe someone would've put them on like that. I guess people have done worse. Anyway thanks for the numbers! Albie |

Re: Finally decided on a header....
Yeppers, before the new headers you had to unhook the exhaust to
change the spring hangers, now it's a piece of cake to change them.
