help with windows
Well I picked up a 67 and the windows are extremely hard to operate. I plan ro pull the door panels and oil/greese the tracks?
Any tricks to this operation?

72 C20 with a 350. Previous owner swapped the 4 speed for a 700R4 auto. I'm retired and volunteer at state and national parks. I spend summers in Oregon. Found this truck for $800 and offered $600. Paid for it with $$ made from recycling bottles and cans. Oregon pays .05 per can/bottle. Now doing restification with recycled parts purchased with recycling $$. |

 DON'T GREASE THE TRACKS AT ALL. JUST PULL THE REGULATORS OUT & CLEAN THE BIG 1/2 MOON SHAPED GEAR REAL WELL WITH SOMETHING LIKE LAQUER THINNER, & REGREASE THEM UP REALLY WELL WITH WHITE LITHIUM GREASE. IF YOUR REGULATORS AREN'T TOTALLY FUBAR, OR PLAIN WHORN OUT, THIS SHOULD MAKE EM OPERATE SMOOTHLY.

its all about the +6 inches

And spray a little PB blaster (kinda like WD40...but actually works) in the channels. My passenger side window is almost too easy to roll up/down now after doing this.

Also check the plastic rollers. There are 3 on each regulator. If they don't roll smoothly, neither do your windows.
