Disk backing plates

When I purchased my drum to disk conversion I didnt buy the backing plates. How many of you guys run like this, and have you had any road debris problems or any other problems running this way?

I will be taking my panel on some pretty long road trips, one of em to the Bonneville Salt Flats, so Im a little concerned. But hey if they work fine without em I wont bother.

Re: Disk backing plates

I don't run backing plates on mine. Mainly because the plates that came with my CPP kit did not fit. ANyway I haven't had any trouble.

Re: Disk backing plates

I never even ran them on the "DIRT" track race car (they just collected track clay there) and I never had a problem with debri.

Personal choice here mainly, They do serve a purpose but , IMO not an overwhelming one.
