Saw an interesting truck today....
It was a shortbox, fleetside. It had factory 396 under the hood. What was interesting was the dually rear end tucked in under the box. The guy said he got the drivetrain from a '79 chevy one ton tow truck. These tires fit beautifully under the box. The only mods done were to the wheel wells (stretched out). Unfortunately the guy was asking $16,000 Canadian for it. From what I saw, not worth it.

I saw the narrowed dually thing in one of the truck magazines a year or two ago. I don't have the issue handy, but it was a yellow truck with LOTS of mods-- later-model dash, fuel filler in the tailgate, boxed frame, late model (glue-in) glass, raked back glass, and so on. If I find the issue I'll post.
