Passenger Side Blazer Seat Track Question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Is the passenger side Blazer seat track supposed to have a torsional spring assist to keep the seat in the "up position" so that it is easier to crawl in behind? I've seen this on the '73-up, but my '71 is missing some parts so...

We've had the Jimmy since '76 and it had nothing like that. The '81 Jimmy we had did, but to my knowledge, nothing like that existed for the 70-72 trucks.

My 72 doesn't have one either....just stays leaned up aginst the dash when I flip it forward.

I have late '70s high back Blazer buckets in mine, so it doesn't lean up against the dash. Actually it doesn't flip as far forward as I'd like since the seat hits the sunvisor/windshield frame. At least I now understand why the lowbacks didn't need a spring.
