Door control mechanism - shaft length difference
Does anyone out there know what the "shaft" length is on the two different door control mechanisms (67-71 vs the 72 longer version)?
I've swapped out my door panels as the truck previously had the 72 plastic ones (but my door handles were so tight against the panel that they were binding). With the new steel panels I have about a 1/2" gap between the handle and the panel. Wondering if I have the 72 controls or if I just need the escutcheons to fill the gap. Thanks all |

Re: Door control mechanism - shaft length difference
Don't know what the length difference is, but I know they are different, and you probably have the '72's. I have '72 doors on my '70 and wanted to swap out the panels, but the shafts stick out a little too far. I was thinking that if you upholstered the panel, it might make up enough of the difference to make it look o.k. . You might try that.

Re: Door control mechanism - shaft length difference
I have the same problem. I have 72 doors and somehow it worked out like this: one door with a short window crank, longer door shaft, the other is the long window/short door shaft.
Anyone know an easy fix for this?
