update on the plastic glovebox

Here's the drawings back from the manufacturer- as soon as I verify the measurements we'll go ahead and cut a tool. Where these are poly we should be able to adapt a drain for icewater to drain from....

they will be for sale as soon as I sign off on the measurements and allow time for tooling development, production and shipping. Looks like they'll be between 22-25 dollars ea.

Sounds like a reasonable price. I'll probably order one.

Re: update on the plastic glovebox

Something nobody has addressed here. What about the clips that the screws that hold it in place? The cardboard boxes have little metal clips that you screw into. They are pushed through the cardboard and tabs folded over. ??????????? WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Re: update on the plastic glovebox

Another question.... Will these be flexible enough to push through the glove box opening? That is the only way that they can be mounted. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

The clip and screws will be with the box and work the same way as on the cardboard one. The PP material can be made to be as flexible as necessary....think of a late model bumper cover, same material

Re: update on the plastic glovebox

How wide is that "bump out" in the A/C one? I don't have A/C but would like to mount a DIN stereo and air gauges in that area. It would be hidden with the door closed.... Thanks..

edit: hope you don't mind me using your pic, just wanted to address the area in question. width and height will work.

Re: update on the plastic glovebox

Very cool, recently picked up a cardboard one though. Sure the first time I attempt to pull it out it'll rip. This will be the next.

It's definately not wide enough for a head unit but it would hold a couple gauges as long as you plated the backside so that the poly isn't supporting all the weight and pressure of the mount tabs.
