"Eagle By Chevy"???

Never heard of these, maybe someone here would be interested in it.

Found on craigslist:
"I also have a very rare set of decals for a 72 chev pick-up that not many people have heard of so I'm not sure what they will sell for on here...they are "Eagle By Chevy" decals that cover the whole side of the truck with aluminum plates that go on the tailgate..they are still in the original box from 1972...I paid $500 for them"

Re: "Eagle By Chevy"???

I remember seeing those decals on Fleetsides, Blazers, and even Suburbans. Fairly popular dealer option in '71 and '72. There were different a couple of different styles, too.

Re: "Eagle By Chevy"???

I would say so. I say it's one of those "if" things.

"if" you can find the right buyer

"if" you can wait till you can find the right buyer

"if" They are in good enough shape for someone doing a 100% resto, Those guy'a are the pickyest guy's you will ever see.

Re: "Eagle By Chevy"???

actually, if i found a set of the "feathers" ones, I would prolly scoop them up for $500, if they are in good usable shape. That's a big IF. after being rolled up/stored for so long, they are potentially crusty or have lost their "sticky" or will fall apart when unrolled.

I had the "feathers" set on my blazer priced out by an automotive decals place (Skinz Wraps, I think) and they came in at around $1700 for the graphic work, production, and application.

Re: "Eagle By Chevy"???

I found a set at Carlisle once in the original carton(like a Quaker Oats box).It would just be something I could say I had(WHICH IS TOTALLY AWESOME!!),but I really couldn`t see buying them for that.It would just be an oatmeal box sitting there with cool stuff inside. So,I passed.

The decal schemes in that ad just reminded me of how good mushrooms were back in the 70's the ad agency guys must have been experimenting a little bit.

Re: "Eagle By Chevy"???

I wonder if they could be scanned to a computer and remade that way? If these lost there stick or had some cracks, what ever. Once it's ready for printing on new vynil, the cost would not be that bad. Then you can get as many new sets as you can sell. Something a vendor should consider.
