That doesn't match at all!! The step beds are closer, and your right the wheel well mismatch is quite obvious. But I like the original beds myself.

i think it would look good with some wheel arch work, if they can put that much time into the lower body line they could have matched the arches

edit: need to work on that top too, sticking out that far from the cab look like crap

I appreciate the hard work, and I hope the owner is happy with their truck... but this part is hard for me to look at. Ouch!

The wheel arches don't bother me. Alot of cars from the 50's and 60's were different. I even have an 86 Mercedes 560SL and they are squared on the back and rounded on the front. To me the sport side looks better through.

Remember it's his truck,and I bet he is very happy with it. That is all that matters. We all have our own opinions, and that is fine. I agree, the lines on the bed are too far off for me, but he might have wanted that bed from the beginning, or got a really good deal on it and it was cheaper than fixing the old bed. I do like that paint job though too.

You know, if he spent that much on the paint job, he could have spent a little on perhaps reshaping the bed to curve with the lines of the cab.

WTF!!!! thats friggin ugly, thats teh first fleetside i have ever seen like that. why would anybody want to do that, i can kinda see how some poeple think new stepside beds look good on our trucks, or maybe they cant find a 67-72 stepside bed, so they can get a newer one for cheap, BUT A LONGBED!, i dont think there is a shortage of 67=72 lwb beds, there everywhere, and thik about all the people who buy a truck and make it into a sortbed, i jsut dont see the point of doing that, especially for it to not line up, the front of teh truck is sweet though

The wheel wells are a real big thing with me...but like many of you also said...that bedtop mismatch with the cab...BLAHHHH. You'd thinf with everything else they could have figuure out a way to smooth out the bed lines...evey if it doesn't run all the way back. I dunno about the flarsides, but my 96's bed is glass. it would seem pretty easy to blend the two together.

I particularly DO NOT care for these trucks, they would look nicer if someone would take the time to make the wheelwells match instead of like adding custom paint, and trying to make them perfect without any mods. Like the truck up top, the damn bedsides don't even match, it looks hidious in my opinion. And maybe in the dark the wheelwell thing might be of no importance but it sure as hell shows up lookin corny at shows

I saw about a million of them up in Canada when I was there 2 weekends ago. WTF? The general flow of the bedsides is the best part! That's one thing I love about these trucks is the lines!

I think it's just a cheap alternative to finding a good bed that matches, and relocating the gas tank.

i personally like the look of a late model stepside bed (fleetside doesn't appeal to much). i like it more than the stock stepside. heh. i don't think people are putting them on because they cant find a stock stepside bed, i think they are doing it to be different. this is called customizing. and for people to sit here and say how "ugly they are" is a bit far. i know it is your opinion and all, but lets keep it at constructive criticism.
