Are you getting voltage to the field terminal?

Quote:
Sounds like it Get out the test light or volt meter and check the red wire which is battery. Then check the brown wire which should have voltage when you turn the key on. Start with that. |

Re: Why won't my alternator work?
First off help us out, lets start by a little more than one sentence. How do you know its not generating? Internal or external regulator? Wiring changes? Give us a little more to go on.

Re: Why won't my alternator work?
just go to advance auto and get a rebuilt alternator $16.95 and a new voltage regulator $9.95 and it should work perfect ? I buy a new alternator for my camaro about every six year's or so (JUST TAKE IT AND TRADE IT IN) the warranty on them is forever ,

Re: Why won't my alternator work?
what kind of testing have you done? how do you know it isn't charging? have you replaced the regulator? you sure it isn't just a bum battery?
