Raise or Lower truck?

On 64-66 chevys is it easier to lower of raise these trucks? I've seen alot of lowered trucks ,I would consider raising the truck but would like to keep it simple and mostly original, has anyone got pictures of raised trucks? Thanks.

Re: Raise or Lower truck?

Lowering a 2wd would probably be easier than lifting one. You could install taller/stiffer coil springs and get 2 to 3 inches, but I don't think lift spindles or controll arms are available. If you have leafs in the back, blocks would be easy.

If you have a 4x4, lift that sucker!

Here's my '66. 3" lift in front and 3/4" in rear, on 37" tires.

Re: Raise or Lower truck?

I would lower your truck since it is a 2wd but you could always have it this low lol

Re: Raise or Lower truck?

I vote lowered.. Raised 2 wd look funny to me.. Plus lower will get better fuel mileage because of less drag.. Ok maybe not alot but some..

Re: Raise or Lower truck?

I think the stock stance of the '64-'66 Chevy trucks is timeless. Some like them high, some like them low. I am a purist and I like them stock. They all have their unique looks. Here are a few of the trucks in my 4-5-6 Chevy truck collection. Long live the '64-'66 Chevy trucks, no matter how they roll.

The red 4x4 you pictured above looks lifted to me? What a nice collection you have!

Re: Raise or Lower truck?

be different than pretty much everyone else and rake it.
Mines already slightly raked, but i'm cuttin' some front coils here soon.

Oh, and I came to this conclusion after my right front tire developed a leak. I loved the look. Plus, it will fill out all that space between the tire and fender.
