Hot Rod Power Tour 2007

It's that time again! Here are some of the truck that I took Saturday in Cleveland. Sorry, no pics from Kalamazoo on Sunday, it poured rain the whole time I was there. Maybe better luck in Racine.

A real beauty.

We didn't go to Kalamazoo thinking it would be nasty.

We did get to some shows in Perrysburg. Not a lot of trucks but one stood out:

Regards.

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2007

I was driving through highway 60 that runs to Jackson, MI yesterday headed East and all of the sudden, I start seeing tons of sweet rides headed West. I stopped at a gas station and there was a '68 Camaro with a power tour 2007 sticker on the window. I thought that was cool and I didn't even know the tour happened already. Then I saw they all had the stickers and put two and two together. So many sweet rides. The bad part was how hard it rained yesterday. It was the only time I've ever seen an interstate flooded. What a mess. Right in the spot that it was flooded, I saw a Cobra going through the 8" or so of water, of course, with no top on the car and it was still pouring. There was a SUPER sweet Charger on the side of the road, looked broken down and it must not have had working windows because there was just a garbage bag over the driver's side.

Not a good day for the power tour!

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2007

Here are a couple from Sunday morning's drivers' meeting when we left out of Cleveland headed for Kalamazoo. Monday in Racine was much of the same as Sunday. The weather finally broke about 6pm. Here's hoping for a great/dry day on our way to Springfield, IL on Tuesday!

Dean

BTW, it wasn't all that bad. We took advantage of the rain and crappy conditions and drove about a half hour up the road and took a tour of the Harley Davidson powertrain factory!

Late model Chevy seats w/out headrests. I've got them in my 48 with the headrest cut down.

Ditch work! It will be worth it! There is an orange '71 or '72 grilled 4x4 Blazer with a black soft top on tour with us.

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2007

Tuesday's update from Springfield, IL. Here are a few trucks from today's stop. Also, GM Performance has a really sweet concept truck on the tour. It is a 427 powered bad boy that sounds great! I sure would not mind having one!!

Until tomorrow...

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2007

Wednesday the tour rolled into Evansville, IN. I did not get a chance to take many pics. I only got one pic of a truck running the auto-cross track. I also got a couple shots of my work truck that we took this year. I do not have any pics from the Memphis stop. It was 96 degrees and we were more concerned about seeing what the local Harley shop had in inventory! Hopefully I will get some great shots to share on Friday in Little Rock.

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2007

Here's a few pics from Friday. Started out the day cleaning up the work truck. It seemed appropriate since Mothers parked their El Camino beside me during the night. Today was nice since we had a short drive from Memphis over to Little Rock.

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2007

Final post of pics: These were taken on Saturday morning as we were wrapping up the tour and getting ready to take the Long Hauler photos for Hot Rod magazine and video footage for an episode of Hot Rod Television that will air on August 4th on ESPN2. It was nice to see some sunlight on the 2009 Camaro convertible, rather than always under the GM Performance awnings.

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2007

Did the tour take I40 from Memphis to Little Rock or Hwy 64 to 167 and down to Little Rock? I saw some slick rides going through Searcy about noon on Friday. Searcy's about 45 miles northeast from L Rock.

I would have except I don't live there anymore. I am going back to visit family but probably not until the NSRA nationals in Louisville in August.

Thanks for sharing the pics. THat is on my list of things in life to do one year.
