finally got my springs put in the back now im just waiting for my front shocks to come in this week cause i sure need them

Did you just do a coil drop, a coil & spindle drop?

just a coil. i cut off 2 coils in the front that dropped about 4" and in the rear i used coils from a jeep wrangler, that dropped it about 3.5" - 4"

Thats pretty inpressive for a coil drop. I did a 2/4 coil drop on my '63. From what I can tell it will make a nice difference. I replaced 3/4 ton springs with 1/2 ton. My drop actually was closer to 3" front and 6" in the rear. I just need to get the body put back together to get a better visualization of it.

that's a nice height. that's what i'm looking for on my 63. lmctruck says that stock height (from wheel arch to ground) should be 32" front and 34" rear. I have chevelle springs in the rear which gives me about 6" drop, but what i thought were stock springs in the front acutally measure 28" wheel arch to ground. of course i don't have stock wheels either. i'm wondering if the 350 engine has lowered it that much, or has the previous owner cut coils. i'll find out soon when i take them out to cut them.

Looks awesome six4flat,I, too, might go the flatdeck route.Rust free boxes around here are pretty far and few between!!
Is there any drastic changes in handling after cutting out two rounds of coil?? Any mods to put in the wrangler springs in the rear? T

the handling didnt change i just couldnt find shocks that will work, and nope no modification involved puttin on the jeep springs

how do those springs ride have you hauled anything with any real weight back there I bought some and havent got them in yet cause my truck isnt running just curious

97-06 wranglers will work. i havent hauled anything yet but i was told i need air shocks before i do so
