Brake rear end upgrade for 1972 Chevy Stepside

Trying to find out is it possible that the 90s camaro rear end will fit in the 72 chevy stepside. Trying get dics brake at each wheel. Anybody, will this work or any advice on what other chevy car that I might be able get the rear end from.Thanks.Semper Fi

A lot of ppl are getting the impall ss parts... the camaro would take a lot of work for a weak rear end, and car bolt pattern on the wheels.
Why do you want diskjs... for the stopping, or the bling?
I only ask, becouse disks in the back are absolutly worthless on an unloaded truck. Might knock an inch ... maybe 2 inches off your 60 to 0.

For the bling mostly its a 72 so have front disc brakes already, thanks for info i may just upgrade the system with better hardware.

Anybody tried the gas tank underneath bed elimanating the one in the cab is the installation pretty easy

Yes it's pretty easy. I think it's a great mod. A lot of people are putting the Blazer tank under the bed.

If you want rear discs, there is a board member (glock35ipsc) that makes brackets to convert to the Impala SS setup, and was working on brackets for the camaro brakes, which will allow you to keep the parking brake.

I got the impala kit from him, and it is very good quality. He even included a list with part numbers for everything else you may need to complete the swap

Definately better than the hassle you would go through to swap and modify the whole rear.
