Re: My truck squeaks like a rubber duck on roids !!!

That`s what it sounds like.Your front end needs a lube job.Time to slap some grease into those zerks.Hopefully they`re not froze up from lack of use.

Re: My truck squeaks like a rubber duck on roids !!!

They're 40 year old trucks? Grease all fittings. Look for loose stuff under there. If all is good, turn up the radio

That said, my truck doesn't have any squeaks at all, but she does have rattles

Re: My truck squeaks like a rubber duck on roids !!!

spray silicone lubricant at the upper A-frame bushings. Assuming it is a 2wd.

Re: My truck squeaks like a rubber duck on roids !!!

Jack the truck up by the frame (not the A-arm) and check for excessive movement/wear. Your balljoints or other suspension parts could be bad.

Re: My truck squeaks like a rubber duck on roids !!!

I had a Chevelle that did the same thing... it was the A-arm bushings.

Mine squeaked like yours; I just finished replacing all the front end parts and bushings and no more squeaks. Hopefully yours is a simpler fix.

Re: My truck squeaks like a rubber duck on roids !!!

Can you make it squeak by bouncing it? If so, get under the hood and get someone to bounce it while you try to home in on where it's coming from. Might have to get underneath the front end, also.

Spray-lube diagnosis is possible, but be sure you use the proper lube if you find something squeaking. Wouldn't want to lube steel A-frame bushings with WD-40, right? Not permanenly, anyway.

Re: My truck squeaks like a rubber duck on roids !!!

Agree with above: Upper A-Arm bushings was where my squeak was. Put the front of the truck on jack stands (Wheels off ground), this will let you get to all the zerks a little easier, and gets more grease into all those moving parts by taking the load off.

Re: My truck squeaks like a rubber duck on roids !!!

Thanks for all the tips guys

Yesterday I got under it & greased / lubed every thing I could see
It helped a lot, but it still squeaks
So I think I'll try some of the suggestions above

I really hope I don't have to rebuild me front

Re: My truck squeaks like a rubber duck on roids !!!

something else to think about and check, coil springs will sometimes squeak once they become worn on the ends that go down into the lower control arm and the upper end that goes up into the crossmember.

Re: My truck squeaks like a rubber duck on roids !!!

scary story I was checking out a friends 69 and it squeaked when he turned the steering wheel. We found a broken bolt on his steering box and the other two were loose. He had just driven 50 miles on the interstate! Lucky man.
