2wd leaf spring U-bolts
I have a 70 chevy 1/2 ton 2wd with rear leaf springs, witch was an option. I have found replacement U-bolts on LMC but it is intended for 4wd, my question is will these bolts fit my leaf springs? The reason I bring this up is because the bushings and other deminsions are different compared to 4wd. I think the U-bolts would be the same but just want to be sure. they are not auxiliary leaf springs, they have 5 leafs. the glove box says heavy duty rear leafs.
thanks in advanced Darin

Re: 2wd leaf spring U-bolts
the very last thing i bought from LMC was U bolts, and in traditional LMC style... they didn't fit.

Re: 2wd leaf spring U-bolts
If I remember correctly, the 4WD trucks use 2.5" wide leaf springs, while the 2WD trucks use 2.25" wide springs. Or some variation on that...the main point is that the 2WD stock leaf springs are narrower by a quarter inch than the 4WD size, which is the far and away most common size.
I ended up getting mine custom made locally when I put my drop leaf springs on, but it looks like Early Classic lists them in their catalog, and I doubt they're the only ones who have them. You're just not going to have much luck at the local stores.

Re: 2wd leaf spring U-bolts
if you have the measurements of what you need any local autoparts store like napa or carquest will have them available with no shipping costs involved
