bags or shockwaves

i have been looking around this site and have seen some people who built their own frame are using shockwaves up front instead of bags. i was wondering why. what is the advantage of the shockwaves. they cost alot more but what makes them a better choice? can u use regular bags with tube control arms?also can the bags handle a high horsepower motor like around 500hp?i dont know if this makes any difference but will it be unstable.

depends on how much lift or how low you want to go. the shockwaves will get a total of about 4" of lift/lower. bags will give you 8-10" of lift. if you want to lay the truck on the ground, bags. if you want a low cruise heigh, then drop the truck on top of the tires, use shockwaves

The advantage of the shockwave is it's built in adjustable shock. It allows you to use it as a unit, like a coil over shock rather than run a bag with a shorter shock.

You can use a bag with most tubular control arms, but you will also need to run a shock. The shockwave just makes a clean install for some things. They are expensive, but they are very good at doing what they do.

The Shockwaves make for cleaner packaging which is usually important to the type of person building a scratch-built frame/suspension. Sometimes there's just not enough room to mount an outboard shock or it just doesn't 'look' right.... the Shockwaves cure both issues.

If you wanted tunability but didn't want to pay for the Shockwave, they make dbl adjustable shocks for 'standard' set-ups.

Actually we have Shockwaves that range all the way to 6" of stroke by them selves. So now you multiply the stroke of the Shockwave by the motion ratio of the suspension.
