Thumbs up Finally finished my carpeted bedliner!

I FINALLY finished making my carpeted bedliner!. I've been working on it off and on for 3 months . It's marine grade carpet that is rubber backed and glued to masonite panels with outdoor adhesive that is waterproof. I really wanted the Bedrug brand that board member Orange has in his truck but they never made one for a longbed I found one at Gaylords for a longbed and it was a little too pricey for me so I decided to just make my own I have invested about $150 in materials not counting my new polished bedrails Here are some before and after pics!

Re: Finally finished my carpeted bedliner!

Thanks guys. The bed has little scratches and dings here and there. I had originally planned to just repaint the inside of the bed and flame the floor but then I wouldn't even be able to carry my chairs so I thought I wanted to try something different. When I get tired of it, it will be easy to remove!

Re: Finally finished my carpeted bedliner!

That does look nice but what are the advantages of a carpeted bed?

Re: Finally finished my carpeted bedliner!

No real advantage for me because the truck is only driven occasionally and never used for hauling. It will keep my chairs from bangin' around when I go to car cruises. I just did it as a fun little project after seeing a few others on here using the pre-made kits. It's marine grade carpet that should be fine in case I get caught in the rain and the panels are easily removable.

Re: Finally finished my carpeted bedliner!

Looks very nice....just wouldn't leave out in rain....cause it seems that it would saty wet and that would lead to rusting that fine looking bed floor....but i like the carpet in the bed....makes for a nice show piece...

Well, I didn't want my bed scratched all to crap, and the only other options I didn't like (Line-X, rubber mat, plastic throw in) so, the "carpet" was the best option.

The Bedrug is actually synthetic plastic, not carpet, so it is impervious to any kind of water, gas, oil, etc.

This was my before...

After is like his, just the Bedrug...it doesn't wrap the side rails like that, which looks nice!
