EarlyClassic Headers.

Thinking of changing my Headman full size headers to a shorty header. Early Classic has headers that are designed for 67 to 72 trucks.

Has anyone dealt with this company or know anything about them? Any information would be appreciated.

Just so happens they make stock manifolds. Now the headers are not SB Hugger style they are mid way between full size and hugger. Do you really think performance would this much. Stockers are about a $179.00 savings.

Those ECE headers are Sandersons which are supposed to fit nice but they are only 1 1/2" primaries.

you will get abit more performance with the headers. I have delt with early classic and all the parts are first class.

These headers are $379.00 dollars compared to the stock manifolds that are $238.00 dollars. Is there $141.00 dollars difference in performance or is it the kool factor that one is paying for. I realize one pays a bit more for kool what do you guys think?

You are paying for the ceramic coating on the headers as well as the fact that they are made into headers, vrs a cast part, lots more work to build the headers.

If your stock manifolds were still on the truck,the headerswould cosy $379.00more.I wouldn`t compare in price as much as performance.I just like hearders over manifolds.There was never any question that they allow for more power even if by themeslves they may only add a little.The only manifolds I`d run would be the 2 2/2".But,for what they`d cost,I`d just get headers.

I bought a set of the Sandersson's from ECE recently and had them installed about a month ago. I had the full length Headman's on my 350 and changed to the shorty's for 2 reasons. I kept burning the #5 plug wire/boot plus I am currently having the truck dropped 3.5/6.

The full length headers hung just too low for my comfort, so I switched to the shortys and couldn't be happier. They have very thick flanges and use no gaskets, just RTV sealant. I put Flowmaster Delta 40's and tucked the exhaust next to the frame by cutting holes/adding support in the crossmember. Very happy with the sound of the exhaust now.

Hi Mark,

I tend to agree with you and I will probably go the same route as you did with the shortys. I have clearence problems and I can't stand the scraping noise that is made no matter how careful I am.

Thanks for the advice and it also sounds like E.C. is a pretty good company by everybodys posts as this was a major cause for concern as they do not have a Canadian dealer that I can find.

Headman has a set of CC headers just like that in their "Elite" line, I have
the 3/4 length on "GQ" and will be putting those mentioned on "Merlot". I
can't recall his board name, he just had a tragedy in the family, but he's
got them on his truck. I saw them at Maggie Valley and I've got to have
them. They look perfect under the hood and I think they are under $300.

The ECEs have a real top quality ceramic coat that brings thier cost up.I think they sell all their stuff direct,no dealers.Could be wrong.Top shelf company all around.

ECE is a top notch company. There Shop is near me. Been there a few times just to druel (err spelling?). I saw those header on display in the fron office area next to a rolling chassis they had. They look real good and clean.

Oh and just to add the guys there are real cool and easy to talk to. They are willing to help out with just about anything.

Early Classics is totally legit. I live about 15 miles from them and they are a solid business. The other good thing about these guys is that if you have questions, they will spend the time to help you out. They know their stuff inside and out. If in central Cali,, you should stop by their shop.

You guys have made my mind up and I want to say thanks to all of you as you have removed any doubt about this company. I'll be ordering the "THE HEADERS" tomorrow. I'll be so happy to get this done. I got the new S/S rear window trim installed today. So now it's new rear tires and a wheel allignment to get done and the ECE Headers should be here by then.
