Wheel Backspacing

Thus my problem, I have 15x10 wheels on 275x60x15 on the rear, but the backspace is over 6 inches.
Would look great on a stepside but my fleetside is rubbing against the inner bed fender well.
Now either I need to cut my bedtubs or get new wheels. My wheels cost me $25.00 for the set, so I really hate to spend money on more rims. Anyone sell oversize tubs?

Also need center my rearend and my other question, which way does the adjustable Panhard mount? Im using the CPP adjustable going back into the stock location.

if you had longer studs you could run spacers, one thing you can do about the tubs is to get another tub from a junkyard truck or the parts board and you can widen yours a couple inches

Tub widing is another option. Thinking about going to the Long Beach Swapmeet tomorow and picking up 2 more 10" or 8" from Pete Palusun for a few bucks. Did not really want to change the wheel tubs. Seeing that im going to get 20's later on.

20x8 or 20x10? At the most had plan on going 20x9's at the most.
Now what about centering the rearend?

it would allow for more clearence no matter how wide you go depending on back spacing

i believe the cpp panhard bar just mounts right up just like normal, if its only adjustable on one end i dont think it matters which side its on so id just put it so its easier to get to, but i dont know about that one so thats just my guess

on a 20x8.5 w/5.4 backspacing, how far in the fender will the wheel be tucked? are spacers needed?

i think the wheel well sit almost in the middle like that but im not 100% sure

See the real problem, this project has been in front of my garage since the begining of March. If I do the wheel tubs were talking another 3 weeks or more. I dont own a welder, and have to find time to pull tubs from the wrecking yard. Time is against me.

Sounds like I would either need a spacer or a decreased backspacing on the wheel itself

Now you have to take in account, my 15x10 offset is 6 1/2 inches. And this is not a centered rearend yet and only one rim and tire are on. Once centered neither tire will fit. 15x10 is not bad with the right offset. I will sell them eventually.

I have a set of 15x10" s on the rear an 15x8" on the front 295/50' & 265/60" s I'm just ready for a new look and nicer wheels if I can figure out what backspacing I need on the rear. going with 20x8.5" s

From what I have seen, 20x8.5 or even 20x9 fits under our trucks without any issues. Any bigger then you might hae to tub.

If I read this right, your wheels are too far IN? (rubbing the frame or bed side of the tub?) If so, how much room, if any, do you have to move them OUT towards the outside of the truck?

If you have an inch to spare, I would get a couple billet aluminum wheel adapters. Problem is they are at least an inch thick, so you would need to have an inch to spare towards the outside of the truck to work. They make them to go from 5 on 5 to 5 on 5, and they're something like $40 a piece. Not cheap, but less than buying new wheels.

Thats the problem, I dont have an inch to spare. With the wheels having a 6.5 offset all a spacer is going to do is take up mounting space. Also if the rearend was centered, I would not be able to get either wheel on the axles.
With the rearend slightly moved to the driverside is why 1 tire and rim was on.
Another downer, the wheels have to be on the truck to center the rearend.

Im sure they would fit. Guess it depends on how low your truck will sit.

I went to the Long Beach Swapmeet on Sunday and picked up 2 more wheels for the back. 15x8 with a 4" back space. Nobody had 15x10 in the size I needed or the right backspace so I settled for the 8's.
Actually like the look. Now my problem I have chrome in the front and silver in the back. So guy should I paint both silver or black or get the back ones chrome?

What ever you do......don't run a spacer. I feel like it's 1986 and I'm in my schools automotive class. Remember the one where you drove your parents car to school so you could screw it up during that class??? Using a spacer moves the weight on the studs from the drum, where it's the strongest, out to where the stud was not designed to carry the load. I know people do it.....but just because you might be able to drive with your feet doesn't make it a good idea!!!!! Here is how you solve the problem and get some meats under your truck.

i having a hard time with understanding this. i run a centerline wheel that is 17X13 and i have a 5 inch offset and myrear tire are 1 inches wide . now its is close but i have a 1/2 inch or 1 inch easily . is it just my offset
