for those who have done 1 piece windows

I'm looking for some details about the filler piece that goes at the front of the window. Does it just hold the weatherstrip, or does the window actually fit inside of it? Also, how much space is the between that and the glass?

Re: for those who have done 1 piece windows

It is just a filler piece for the most part. It does hold the end of the weatherstrip, and roughly 1/4-1/2 inch of glass does slide thru it when all the way up.

Re: for those who have done 1 piece windows

Thanks

Forgot to mention in the first post, what holds the filler in place?
I'm looking into the possibility of using it to mount a mirror, but I'm wondering if there is enough room for the mounting / wiring, and if it can support the stresses involved

It gets screwed into the existing bottom hole that was used for the wing window. As far as space, it is almost all open and unused. I would even consider putting tweeters in them....

1LoC10 if you don't mind can you tell us some more about those mirrors? Who are they made by? Where did you get them? How do they mount? Are they mounted by one stud / bolt or two?

Don't mean to hijack the thread but those are nice mirrors and a great reason to get the 1 piece windows with the triangles.

Thank you for your response.......
