Winch Bumpers
Do they make them for 67-72's? If they do, where to find them?

Re: Winch Bumpers
Are you wanting a tube or more traditional style? There are a couple people who sale tube style bumpers over in the vendor section at www.ck5.com
Kennesaw Mountain Accessories makes a more traditional style front bumper. Burt4x4 uses their front bumper on his K5 and it looks like a good bumper. They are a bit expensive and I think you would want to talk with Burt about his bumper. The 73-87 bumpers are very similar and they can be used but I've read they have a slightly different shape that gives a bit of a gap at the center of the bumper area.

Re: Winch Bumpers
I was thinking the more traditonal type. Maybe chrome with a treadplate top. Don't want one big and gawdy.

Re: Winch Bumpers
Go with your frame for applications.I used a snowplow mount for an`84 on a`71 I had.It was in`84 and they offered some universal mount for my truck that had braces that went back through the grille and core support ant it was a funky square frame. We measured my partner`s`84 and knew it would fit.We just had to slide it forward a bit because of the peak in the front sheetmetal instead of the flat 73-ups.We could use two holes and drilled two.

Re: Winch Bumpers
Im not a big fan of the grill gard. I dont have one on my KMA eather just didnt look good to me. when I had KMA put the bumper on mine I told him I didnt like the 67 to 72 bumper he had and wanted him to alter his 73 to 87 bumper and he said he would do it. I was going to cut the lower fender off and have the bumper wrap around to ware the fender wheel well use to be. This is the one we are thinking about modifying to fit. ether this or Ill build my own.

Re: Winch Bumpers
I got a Warn bumper from a late 80s ford, junk yard. I had to cut and notch the sides by the winch plate and angle them to the rear and then reweld them due to the chevys having a slight point at the front.

Re: Winch Bumpers
I really like the look of the old Warn winch bumper on team ropers truck. This would only be a "have to case" if the State messes with my bumper height at some time.
