After a crazy winter and spring I finally have my '71 on the road. The last posts around christmas I had the paint done and was starting to go back together. I'm really happy with how it came together. It was apart for a year and a half and I hadn't driven it before I tore it down so it feels good to have it close to done- if they are ever done- Dave

Thanks!!! I went with a 3/4 ton because my son races motocross and it's perfect to pull a trailer. I Stayed with the 402 w/turo400. I switched to a HEI and internal reg. alternator. The worst part of the project was around the windshield. I had to replace the winshield posts down to the upper door hinges. I used a piece out of a pickup and then made a front section of the roof skin. I also put in a 40gal tank from a '73 Sub. Dave

That Burb is freakin sweet. I am thinkin' of going black with mine. I got the same second row seat the other day off a guy. I got all the brackets in a box. Any way you could post some pics of how you mounted the side and bottom brackets. I am sure I can figure it out but something to go off of would be nice.

Here are some that might help. I made the pieces to mount the back brackets & speakers out of some 16 gauge and put a reinf. behind them.After you mount the hinge and bolt in the seat backs it's easy to locate where the upper back latch's go. mark the holes and weld nuts to the back side .

Cool thanks for the picks. Looks like they were red and you recovered in grey? Did you get the covers from LMC or something I haven 't even begun looking for them yet. Also I have to L looking brackets. The guy said they are to support the seatback while folded down or something. Did you end up using them? Right now I am thinking they go on the floor and when the backs fold down they hit on the rubber bumpers between them or something. I only have two though. I was just gonna go look in the junkyard to find one but....hey looks like I found a good source.

The L shape stops bolt to the floor just like you thought. There is also another stop between the two seats that the middle of both seats rest on when they are down. I got the covers from Fryer's Auto Upholstery. I also bought some bulk material so when I made the side panels they would match.

Ouch. You pulled it off though. Mine needs a less severe surgery in the same area (mostly in the drip rail area). Nice work!

Go to my profile and click on the threads I've started. There is one that outlines the tank installation. The only change I would make is instead of the blocks between the floor and the tank I would make brackets that would mount the tank to the frame.
