Need VIN identification on my new project.
Hey all, I posted this on another site as well with no responsed yet, thought I would try you guys here as well.
---> I just laid down a deposit on an old grain truck I found in a farmers field. The interior is shot. (mice have been in it) Supposedly it ran up until 4 years ago, when they parked it. (farmer died) Anyway I think its a 1949. It has the Maple Leaf badges on the side of the hood. I got a bunch of numbers off the tags on the door frame. I was hoping someone could help me figure out what the heck this thing is. Thanks! Chevrolet Maple Leaf Model --> 1683 S/N --> 9168300149 Engine --> H20213 Body S/N --> 4 Trim --> 394 Paint --> 931 Max GVW --> 15500 lbs

Re: Need VIN identification on my new project.
If you're looking for the vin, it should be located on the driver's side door jam between the two hinges. I'm sure if you did a forum search you could find lins that would help you decode it. Is there any paper work with the truck for registration? Keep us posted.

Re: Need VIN identification on my new project.
Thanks for the info. But that is teh VIN that I just posted. This is a Maple Leaf truck, so from what I have gathered so far, they are numbered different. It seems quite tough to find info on these.

Re: Need VIN identification on my new project.
Sorry, I just realized you said "Maple Leaf" and you're from Canada. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I wouldn't know where to start on that one.
