Holley 4010 and performer intake?
Im looking at a used Holley 4010 (R84010) with Edelbrock performer intake for $75.00. The carb has been sitting for a year. Its for my 70 SBC.
Any thoughts, is this a decent combo? Thanks. |

Deal (if for maniflod only). 4010 carb is the new type carb (like a Eldebrock with one piece top)that Holley tried for a few years -do not make it now I believe. Used one on a 454 I build for a street rodder- worked fine.

At this point I just need it to get the truck running again, the Quad-ra-junk died.

Someone told me Hollies were hard to tune too, but that was from a guy who had never seen a vacuum guage.

Hollies are easy to tune. Just that particular one I've heard that it was difficult if not impossible. My local performance shop stopped carrying them for that very reason several years ago. It's too bad they weren't a better carb because the look really cool.
