torsion bar air bag susp?
Has anyone done or does anyone know of a bagged torsion bar front suspension drop?

Re: torsion bar air bag susp?
You want to keep the bars and run bags with them, or convert to a coil front end and run bags?

Re: torsion bar air bag susp?
Gotta keep the bars due to 4wd. I've seen something on blazinlow.com that airbagit.com is supposed to have (porkchop) but couldn't find it on their site. I've not heard a lot of good things about AIM so it may be a blessing in disguise.

Re: torsion bar air bag susp?
Interesting. That's the first I've seen of it. One thing to keep in mind is that the bags will add compression "length" to the existing torsion bars. It will be like running a taller spring if it were coil. Make sense? So I would imagine that you would want to run heavy bags so that they are there for height adjustment only and let the torsion bars act as the springs.

Re: torsion bar air bag susp?
I also thought about hydros to adjust the height and still let the bars do their job. Another solution I found included welding bags to the top a-arm and fabbing an upper mount. That upper arm and ball joint weren't designed to bear the weight of the truck so I'm tossing that one. I think I like the other idea using a coilover. In this case use a shockwave or maybe extend a shockwave and fab/relocate the upper mount. It may require a tubular upper a-arm. I'll probably do this and a mild Z on the frame to keep the ball joint angle in a good range.

Re: torsion bar air bag susp?
is the truck 4wd?
If not you can yank the bars and use torsion bar air bag brackets...do it all the time on nissans and toyotas |

Yep. 4wd has to stay. I've never done a 4 wheel burnout but I think it's going to be REAL fun.
