Almost finished the 383

Just about finished with this 383 build. Primed the oil system and set the valve lash. With this setup according to Desktop Dyno, I should be getting 380 hp and 425 torque. We'll see. Hoping to get this back in the truck the 1st week of July..

Buddy of mine told me to include myself in these pics.......I'm just an old school Marine...

Re: Almost finished the 383

What brand of valve covers are those? they remind me of the vette style, but probally are alot cheaper and easier available. Thanks

Re: Almost finished the 383

Your engine looks really good. Is your truck ready for it? I jumped the gun and went ahead and built my engine. My truck is a long way from needing it. I am a new school marine. I was at camp pendleton on Del Mar 94 - 98.
here is what my engine looks like.

Re: Almost finished the 383

Valve covers are early Weiand aluminum and early Stealth intake. I got these off Ebay. Everyone seems to go with Edelbrock covers and intakes. I'm different.

68chevy68....I was at 16 area in Pendleton in 1968........

This engine is going into this......

Re: Almost finished the 383

See I told ya that painting the engine a shade of the color of the truck would look GR8.
(refer back to your thread about engine color choices) I love it when they match also like 68chevy68 stated.

I think yours turned out amazingly good looking. If it runs half as good as it looks you will be happy, I'm sure.
